Dispensing Assistant / Animal Handler role at our Morley hospital

 

We are looking for a confident, enthusiastic individual to join our exciting busy hospital as a dispensing assistant/animal handler.

Flexibility with working hours is required due to the nature of the 24 hour hospital environment.

 

Part-time approximately 32.5 hours per week. Pattern and exact hours to be agreed

 

Essential Requirements

 

Flexibility

Ability to pay attention to detail

Ability to work under pressure

Good communication skills

Good keyboard and computer skills

 

Desirable Requirements

 

Previous dispensing experience or qualification

Previous experience working in a similar environment or with animals

Full driving license

Animal care or animal handling qualification

 

Main duties include–

 

Assisting veterinary surgeons with handling and restraining animals

Cleaning consultation rooms

Cleaning and maintaining tidiness on dispensing corridor

Dispensing drugs

Liaising with clients and reception colleagues to ensure prescriptions are issued

Advising clients on how to treat/medicate animals

Assisting on reception with queries and telephone calls

Cleaner


We are looking for a Cleaner to join our team at the hospital in Morley, Leeds. 

10 Hours per week based on a rota which currently includes working 1 weekend in 3. The normal hours of work are from 20.00 - 22.00, 5 nights a week. If the weekend is worked, days off during the week are given. 

 

A typical rota would look like

 

Week 1 Mon - Fri 20.00 - 22.00

Week 2 Mon - Tues 20.00 - 22.00 and Sat & Sun 19.00 - 22.00

Week 3 Mon - Fri 20.00 - 22.00

 

As with all of our roles we expect a dress of flexibility in terms of your working hours to allow us to cover holidays. sickness and absences. Therefore from time to time you will be asked to provide cover and work additional hours. You  may be asked to work at any of our 5 locations. 

The cleaning supervisor currently arrnges the working of bank holidays by sharing these between the whole team. 

 

Essential Requirements for the role include:

Branch rota RVN position


 

 

  We have an exciting opportunity for a registered veterinary nurse to join our team at Abbey House.

This role involves working at 3 of our branches on a rotation with two other RVN's working at Morley, Rothwell and Kippax.

There are surgical, medical and practice nursing duties within this role. Your time will be shared between our 3 branches which include our Morley Hospital where we also provide out of hours cover for several other practices and also see many complicated referral cases. 


This role is a full time - 40hrs per week including 1 in 8 weekends, CPD allowance, practice bonus and staff allowance.

Qualified RVN required


 

We are looking for a registered veterinary nurse to join the team working at the veterinary hospital in Morley. This position provides an excellent opportunity to work with referral veterinary surgeons nursing more complex cases. 

As an RVN in a busy 1st opinion and referral practice which also offers out of hour’s emergency care, you will be expected to undertake all aspects of the VN role. You will assist with all types of surgery ranging from routine neuters to the more complicated major surgeries such as thoracic and abdominal surgery. We also offer radiography & contrast radiography, CT, ultrasound and endoscopy.

A high standard of nursing is expected at all times and as a representative of Abbey House you will be able to provide this level of care for both medical and perioperative patients. We hospitalise a wide range of animals which require a high standard of medical nursing and our in-patient facilities offer ICU with oxygen kennelling/ventilation, oncology unit and an isolation unit alongside a cattery, exotic area and routine kennelling. You will have access to our in-house laboratory and will be working alongside our experienced and very dedicated team of vets, night vets, nurses, night nurses, animal care assistants and lab technician.

This role is full time - 40 hours per week including 1 in 4 weekends. CPD allowance, practice bonus, staff allowance.

 

Essential requirements for the role include:     

                      

  • Qualification as a veterinary nurse, registered with the RCVS
  • Obtained the correct number of relevant CPD hours in the last 12m period
  • Experience of working in a multi disciplined veterinary practice as a RVN.
  • Customer service mindset and client focused approach to work
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Good keyboard and computer skills
