We are looking for a registered veterinary nurse to join the team working at the veterinary hospital in Morley. This position provides an excellent opportunity to work with referral veterinary surgeons nursing more complex cases. 

As an RVN in a busy 1st opinion and referral practice which also offers out of hour’s emergency care, you will be expected to undertake all aspects of the VN role. You will assist with all types of surgery ranging from routine neuters to the more complicated major surgeries such as thoracic and abdominal surgery. We also offer radiography & contrast radiography, CT, ultrasound and endoscopy.

A high standard of nursing is expected at all times and as a representative of Abbey House you will be able to provide this level of care for both medical and perioperative patients. We hospitalise a wide range of animals which require a high standard of medical nursing and our in-patient facilities offer ICU with oxygen kennelling/ventilation, oncology unit and an isolation unit alongside a cattery, exotic area and routine kennelling. You will have access to our in-house laboratory and will be working alongside our experienced and very dedicated team of vets, night vets, nurses, night nurses, animal care assistants and lab technician.

This role is full time - 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday. No OOH or on call. CPD allowance, practice bonus, staff allowance.

 

Essential requirements for the role include:     

                      

  • Qualification as a veterinary nurse, registered with the RCVS
  • Obtained the correct number of relevant CPD hours in the last 12m period
  • Experience of working in a multi disciplined veterinary practice as a RVN.
  • Customer service mindset and client focused approach to work
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Good keyboard and computer skills

Role 1 = Rolling rota  - 4 on 10 off- approximately 23hrs per week (start at 7pm or 8pm)

 

Role 2 = 6pm - 2am , 4 days a week, 32 hrs per week.

Locum Night and Emergency Veterinary Surgeon


 

Opportunities in emergency and critical care – Veterinary Surgeon.

 

Leeds Emergency Vets is a long established emergency service looking after the patients of our own four surgeries and also those of the 20 participating practices. You will be working on your own initiative with the support of experienced nurses, animal care assistants and a close knit veterinary team including certificate holders.

 

We offer superb clinical facilities and fantastic support from a friendly and highly skilled team of nurses and support staff, our facilities includes CT scan, chemotherapy suite, digital x-ray, ultrasound, multimedia monitors, full lab facilities and separate wards for cats, dogs and rabbits.

Due to expansion in the hospital we are looking for registered veterinary surgeons to join the team working at our hospital in Morley. The positions provide an excellent opportunity to work with referral veterinary surgeons dealing with more complex surgical and medical cases. 

 

We have the facilities for all types of surgery ranging from routine neuters to the more complicated major surgeries such as thoracic, orthopaedic and laparoscopic procedures. We also offer routine imagery, CT, MRI and endoscopy.

 

Our in-patient facilities include separate kennels, cattery, rabbit / exotic wards, 2 isolation wards, an ICU and an oncology unit. We have 4 theatres, plus dental, and endoscopy theatre’s and a chemotherapy room. There are 4 prep rooms, 1 of which is used solely for cats. We have a large in-house laboratory with 2 lab technicians and you will be working alongside our experienced and very dedicated night team which consists of 2 vets, 2 qualified nurses and a trainee veterinary nurse.

 

The role is full time Monday – Friday, 1 in 4 weekends, BSAVA membership, Generous CPD allowance and practice bonus.
